Lots of people have a very low opinion of themselves. If you are someone who feels like no matter how much you make yourself up or dress yourself to disguise who you think you are, it is critical to learn how to be the best version of yourself. What does it really take to be the best version of yourself when you actually don’t like what you see?
Look at What You Have Control Over
There are a number of facets here. One of the more obvious approaches is to change your style or to go for cosmetic treatments, such as a hair transplant or a lip filler. It is only one aspect of being your best self. What you have to remember when you are going down this route is if you’re going to change your mind about your looks. We can easily look in the mirror and hate what we see because it has been deeply ingrained in us. When we look at what we have control over, we should use this to inspire ourselves and accentuate the things that are already there.
Define Your Purpose
We can all feel some sense of fatigue in our lives, and if we look in the mirror and see the person staring back at us is not what we want to see, we’ve got to dig deep into defining our purpose. You can ask yourself what it takes to make you satisfied in terms of your looks but also in terms of your life. Sometimes we need to look at what it takes to be the best version of ourselves without thinking we need to be better than everybody else. We need to think about our goals and what we truly want to be the best at. This could very well be about finding your calling in life or looking at what gives you some sense of motivation. Since the pandemic, many people have found themselves quitting their jobs because of a lack of motivation. If you start to think about what you could truly be the best at, whether it’s in terms of your career, your life, or just in your daily existence, you’ll feel that innate sense of purpose.
Negative Thoughts Do Not Make Who You Are
Because this sense of negativity is ingrained in us through years of bad thinking habits or negativity throughout our formative years, we can think that this is just who we are. There are going to be plenty of people in your life who will tell you that you just need to “snap out of it.” Of course, it’s not as simple as that, but it’s about recognising that if you are triggered by stress and this tailspins into negative thoughts, you should learn how to overcome stress in a gradual way. Stress and anxiety can make us think that this is who we are but it’s a physiological response to threats. Being the best version of yourself can take time, but you do not have to accept that not liking yourself right now is the way it’s going to be.
