The second full day of Winter Meetings action commences.
It’s all about that Winter Meetings action, baby!!
That’s all just in theory anyway. Day one was a dud aside from rumors and minor news; it was so bleak that poor Jake had to talk about Erick Fedde! (Apologies to the KBO.) Let’s hope for more today. I’m still willing to dream on Juan Soto.
Today on the site, we will at least try to get into the Winter Meetings spirit with a trio of target posts! What else is this specific time on the baseball calendar for, after all? Matt will start us off by discussing NPB pitcher Shōta Imanaga, who is planning to come stateside in 2024, and then we turn to the trade market with Estevão on the Cardinals’ Tyler O’Neill and Peter on the Marlins’ Edward Cabrera. Both have been reportedly shopped this offseason. Also, don’t miss Sam continuing our Top 100 series with a familiar face from the late-2000s/early-2010s and Jake continuing to provide up-to-the-minute coverage with his rolling post.
1. Should Lou Piniella have been elected as a Hall of Fame manager alongside Jim Leyland on Sunday?
2. What did you think about that weird Mariners/Braves trade featuring Jarred Kelenic, which broke very late on Sunday? (I realize that this has probably been discussed a bit already, but look, the Meetings aren’t helping us.)
