Steelers WR James Washington won't play vs. Chargers due to injury

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Sports 2 months ago

The Steelers offense, already hit with injuries at quarterback and running back, will lose another key component for at least a week.

Receiver James Washington, who injured his shoulder in the third quarter against the Baltimore Ravens, will not play in Los Angeles on Sunday and is on a week-to-week basis, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has been told. He is the third offensive player to be injured in that game who could miss at least one game.

But the Steelers have an off week following the game against the Chargers, so it’s possible Washington will not miss more than one game.

The Steelers could be down to their third quarterback, Devlin Hodges, against the Chargers because of the concussion sustained by Mason Rudolph on Sunday. And backup running back Jaylen Samuels had arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday after being injured in the Ravens game. He could be out up to a month.
