WWE star Finn Balor made a shock full-time return to NXT last night.

The Demon King made the surprise entrance as the wrestling show made its full debut on the USA Netowrk.

Finn Balor made his shock return to WWE’s NXT show on Wednesday night to confront Adam Cole

The Irishman confronted current NXT champion Adam Cole following his win over Matt Riddle in the opening match.

The crowd at the Full Sail University went wild as their hero returned from RAW or SmackDown Live.

He said on the mic: “As of now, Finn Balor is NXT.”

Balor last appeared on the programme back in July 2016 when he teamed up with Shinsuke Nakamura to beat Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe.

The high-flyer, 38, went on to become the first ever Universal Champion but took a break for the main roster.

Earlier this year he got married to Fox Sports host Veronica Rodriguez in a private ceremony in the Yucatán Peninsula.

The WWE are now looking to make NXT their third brand rather than a development show from now on.

Meanwhile, Tommaso Ciampa also made his return on Wednesday night.

The former NXT title holder came back following the end of the main event tag team title match.

He has been out injured since March after having surgery on a long-standing neck problem.
