ROMAN REIGNS has revealed he would love to go one-on-one with “The Great One” – as long as a fight with his cousin The Rock was “done right”.
WWE legend Dwayne Johnson, 47, confirmed this week he is returning “home” for the Fox premiere of SmackDown Live this Friday night.
It remains to be seen what Vince McMahon and his fellow wrestling chiefs have in store for the “Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment” after the ex-world champion’s in-ring retirement announcement in August.
But one WWE’s current biggest names – who just happens to be related to the now Hollywood mega-star – has opened the door to a potential feud with his family member.
While appearing on GQ Sports’ Actually Me web series, 34-year-old cancer survivor Reigns was asked about a potential showdown with The Rock.
And “The Big Dog” admitted it would be “huge”.
Reigns, real name Joe Anoaʻi, replied: “If it’s done right, I think, obviously the star that he is, where he’s at in his career, it would be huge.
“It would be great. But you know, we’re family, so it has to make sense. And free the guy up; can we get him a break? Can he take a day off? If he can get a week off, then we might be able to make it happen.”
The Rock, who married Laura Hashian two months ago, smashed a WrestleMania record in 2016 when he beat Erick Rowan in just six seconds – the fastest win in the extravaganza’s history.
That proved to be the last match for “The Great One”, who is one of the most popular wrestlers ever and an eight-time WWE Champion.
The legend became one of the most recognisable faces on the planet during the WWE Attitude Era days in the 1990s and continued to dominate into the 2000s.
Now the trailblazing, eyebrow raising superstar is one of the biggest actors in Hollywood and worth an estimated £228million.
