A man who claims he was trying to talk to his ex-girlfriend went to Fletcher Cox’s house with a baseball bat and started throwing rocks at the door. Attacking a 300-pound All-Pro defensive tackle is unwise under any circumstances, but Cox apparently is well-armed, and he chased the man off with a shotgun.
6ABC in Philadelphia reported the account from court documents, and Corbyn Nyemah, out on bond, confirmed that it was true.
Nyemah fled Cox’s South Jersey home after the Eagles star grabbed his gun and called the cops. Nyemah escaped in his car, but was eventually arrested.
According to the report, “he wanted to talk to his ex-girlfriend and believed they were working on rekindling their romance.”
The affidavit for probable cause also says that after Nyemah evaded the police, he sent the ex-girlfriend “suicidal” texts including photos of him with a gun.
It’s at least the second time that a jilted lover has gone after Cox. In 2017, a North Carolina man sued Cox for breaking up his marriage and having sex with his wife. Cox settled the lawsuit last year.
Cox missed Wednesday’s Eagles practice with an “illness."
