The Pittsburgh Penguins (6-4-0-0) play the second end of their Sunshine State swing against the Tampa Bay Lightning (4-3-1-0) Wednesday in front of a national audience. We analyze the Penguins-Lightning odds and lines, while providing NHL betting picks and tips around this matchup.
The Pens were doubled up in Sunrise against the Panthers by a 4-2 score Tuesday night, as Matt Murray was no match for Florida's big guns.
The Lightning had their scoring lines shuffled in practice Tuesday, as top dogs Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point and Steven Stamkos are each working along. The team might welcome back C Cedric Paquette (upper body) for his season debut, too.
Penguins at Lightning: Projected starting goalies
Tristan Jarry vs. Andrei Vasilevskiy
Jarry is likely to get the starting nod, although it hasn't been confirmed yet. Murray was shaky in Tuesday's showing, and Jarry sports a 1-1-0 record with a sparkling 1.52 goals-against average and .941 save percentage across two outings.
Vasilevskiy, the defending Vezina Trophy winner, hasn't been in championship form early on. While he is 4-2-0 so far, he has a subpar 3.15 GAA and .899 save percentage. He'll likely iron things out, however. He was 1-1-0 with a 4.06 GAA and .852 save percentage in two meetings with the Pens last season.

Moneyline : The Penguins (+170) are awfully tempting at this price, but based on their performance Tuesday and the fact they have their backup, avoid. The Lightning (-209) are risky business, too, as the return on investment isn't great. Look to the puck line.
Spread : The LIGHTNING ( -1.5, +125) are worth a very small-unit bet at home against Pittsburgh's backup backstop. The Pens just aren't playing very well lately.
Over/Under : The OVER 6.5 ( +100) is a whopping 20-3-3 in the past 26 for the Penguins are a road underdog, while going 34-14-4 in the past 52 meetings in this series, too.
