Benbatl won a Group 1 in Dubai last time and fits all the trends

TOP TRENDS:

  • Stick with horses aged four and five
  • Horses that have won over a mile fare best
  • Look for previous Group 1 winners
  • Richard Hannon and Aidan O’Brien have a strong record

VERDICT:

BENBATL may not come from Hannon or O’Brien but he has strong claims on all the other trends.

He is proven at Group 1 level, has no problem with stamina and comes from the right age group.

He’s the only one high enough in the Official Ratings to be a standard Queen Anne winner which indicates that this could be a sub-standard year for the meeting’s opener.

How can I watch the race?

The race will be shown live on ITV at 2.30pm this Tuesday.

The full Ascot card will also be broadcast on Racing UK.

Racing UK is on Sky channel 426, Virgin channel 536, and UPC in Ireland on channel 411.
