Sky TV customers warned of huge Netflix mistake that’s a nightmare to fix

SKY TV customers have been warned against a cheeky Netflix trick – which turns out to be a nightmare to fix.

It can be all too tempting to use a pal’s password before the Netflix sharing ban comes into effect.

Signing into Netflix on your Sky TV for the first time with another person’s account can’t be reversed yourself.

You’ll have to contact Netflix directly to fix it.

“Do not use a friends/family Netflix log in details on your Sky Glass TV or Sky Stream puck when logging in for the first time as this will link their login details to your Sky account and it can’t be reversed,” Sky warns in a help forum on its website.

It’s yet another way Netflix has tried to stamp out password sharing, which has yet to be implemented worldwide (although there is a secret way to get around it).

Plus Sky offers all TV accounts a Netflix subscription as standard – so there’s really no need.

If you’re a Sky Glass or Sky Stream customer, Netflix will be included with your Sky Ultimate TV subscription and part of your Sky bill.

It should be noted that if you’re a Sky Glass customer and have an existing Netflix account, you’ll be paying extra.

It’s an unnecessary spend and could actually go towards a brand new subscription, such as Disney+ or Amazon Prime.

Make sure you log into Netflix on your Sky Glass TV – not a Sky Stream puck – with the same details of your Sky subscription.

This way Netflix will be alerted and will stop billing you separately and link your existing account to your Streaming TV bill.

Sky also offers VIP customers a six-month subscription to Apple TV on the house.

Apple TV+ hosts both movies and TV series, including original shows like Slow Horses, Ted Lasso and The Morning Show.

The streaming service, which is increasingly having to compete with the likes of Netflix and Disney+, also offers free access to Friday Night Baseball for sports fans.
