He’s been dubbed the “Gordon problem.” Democrats question whether he tells the truth. Even the Republicans' impeachment witnesses have dismissed him.
Yet Gordon Sondland, who is testifying Wednesday, could be one of the most crucial witnesses in the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry. He revised his previous testimony to reveal that he told a top Ukrainian official that the country “likely” wouldn’t receive aid unless it publicly announced investigations Trump was seeking. And a State Department official testified that he overheard the EU envoy telling Trump that the Ukrainian president agreed to carry out the investigations.
Also scheduled to testify is Laura Cooper, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, and State Department official David Hale.
