BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office was called to the scene of a deadly crash involving a pedestrian, according to EMS. The Baton Rouge Police Department confirmed that they responded to the call for a pedestrian hit in the 5700 block of Airline Highway around 2:15 a.m. on Monday, June 12.
EMS confirmed that an unidentified pedestrian was hit on Airline Highway and McClelland Drive. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, according to EMS.
EMS, Baton Rouge Police Department and Baton Rouge Fire Department vehicles are all observed at the scene early Monday morning. BRFD confirmed that they were turned around after arriving at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
