D.C. Cobbs to open restaurant in East Dundee’s 311 Barrington building

East Dundee residents have another downtown dining option to look forward to in the near future.

Businessman Dan Hart plans to open his third D.C. Cobb’s location in about 5,500 square feet of space in the village’s 311 Barrington building. He also has restaurants in McHenry and Woodstock.

Broker Terry Donati, whose wife, Amy Donati, is part of the 311 Barrington Ave. LLC investment group, is excited about the building’s newest addition, which is anticipated to open in January.

“His food is excellent. And besides the fact that he’s coming into our building, we're excited because this is going to bring more people to the square. And the more people that come down, the more everyone benefits,” Donati said.

The menu will be the same for East Dundee’s D.C. Cobb’s location, with fare including appetizers, specialty wraps, specialty burgers and salads as well as a full bar with a rotating selection of beers on tap. The second-floor rooftop patio space will allow patrons a view of East Dundee’s downtown district.

Donati said Hart is a great marketer of his businesses. Case in point, the restaurateur has already launched a Facebook page for his newest location, with a post that says, “Coming soon to East Dundee.” Roughly 600 people have started following the page.

“This guy knows what he’s doing. His businesses do well and it’s all about his ability to market, advertise and service,” Donati said.
