Wallsend stabbing: Mum's loving Facebook post minutes before newborn 'knifed by dad'

Mirror Online 2 months ago

An overjoyed mum posted a loving Facebook message about her newborn son just minutes before they were allegedly attacked by the baby's father.

Andreea Stefan, 21, wrote: "I asked God to send me a man who will always love me. So, he gave me a son." It was followed by a blue heart and baby emoji.

The message was posted at 1.44pm on Wednesday - just 31 minutes before emergency services were called to the family home and found Andreea and three-week-old son Andrei with stab wounds and both were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Little Andrei passed away on Monday.

His father Denis Erdinch Beytula, 27, was remanded in custody when he appeared before magistrates last week charged with two counts of attempted murder.

Emergency services were called to an address in Wallsend, North Tyneside, at 2.15pm on Wednesday and found Andreea and Andrei.

Andreea is now in a stable condition in hospital.

Just two days before the attack Andreea posted a black and white picture of her and Denis with the caption: "I love you so much."

In another image of the couple she wrote: "My love."

And on September 20 Andreea posted a bedroom selfie with a moses basket in the background with a mother and baby emoji.

Earlier last month she posted another bedroom selfie captioned #39weeks.

A baby on a stretcher and a woman wrapped in blankets were seen being taken away by air ambulance in the minutes after the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Cole, of Northumbria Police, said: “This is a devastating time for the baby's family.

"Specialist officers continue to offer them support and I know the community in Wallsend are by their side too.

“It is impossible to imagine what they are going through and I would ask the public to continue to respect the family’s privacy at this time.

“A man has been charged in relation to the incident and we will continue to work closely with the Crown Prosecution Service as the case moves forward.”
