Pearl Harbor naval base is on lockdown after reports of multiple gunshot victims as police hunt an active shooter.
The base, in Hawaii, in the US, is said to be on lock-down and paramedics are on the scene.
There are multiple reports that the shooter has been contained but this has not been confirmed by US authorities or the base.
Two victims are said to be critical, while a third is stable.
A spokesman said the situation is still unfolding, Hawai News Now reported.
Witnesses reported hearing loud pops.
One said: “I kind of recognize that as gunshots and I looked out the window and saw three people on the ground."
The base confirmed on Twitter that there had been a shooting.
It wrote on its official page: "JBPHH security forces have responded to a reported shooting at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. Due to the ongoing security incident, access/gates to #JBPHH are closed. We will update when we have further information."
The base’s 15th Wing confirmed, there was a shooter on the base.
It said on Facebook: “ALERT: There is an active shooter on base, please seek a secure location until further notice,” the 15th Wing wrote on Facebook."
