Multiple manhole explosions shutdown part of Route 9 in Brookline

Multiple manhole explosions have shut down part of Route 9 in Brookline Wednesday night, police said.

Officers responded to Boylston Street and Brington Road after more than one manhole exploded at about 6:10 p.m., a Brookline police dispatcher said.

Part of Boylston Street is shut down between Sumpter, Warren, and Cypress streets while police investigate the incident.

No further Information was available.
