Canada Inflation Stays Close to 2% in October

OTTAWA—Canada’s annual inflation rate rose in October and for a third straight month at a pace just shy of the Bank of Canada’s 2% target.

The October consumer-price data could provide the Canadian central bank further justification to keep its main policy rate steady, and avoid looser monetary policy employed by other developed-world central banks to deal with a slowing global economy.
