A homeless man has been found dead outside the Hilton hotel, on the night temperatures plummeted to -2C.
The man was found in the alleyway next to the hotel in Nottingham City centre.
Police officers were called to assist paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service at around 8.20am today after the man collapsed.
He was rushed to the Queen’s Medical Centre for treatment but was later pronounced dead.
A cordon remains at the scene, just off Milton Street.
Three hours before the man collapsed, temperatures were at -2C at 5am.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman added: ‘Officers believe his death isn’t suspicious. His cause of death hasn’t been established.’
It comes as charities call on city councils to open their Winter shelters early, as a cold snap saw temperatures drop below freezing across the UK.
