Young Tory says Dominic Cummings has secret 'plan up his sleeve' to resolve Brexit

Tory member and Brexiteer Emily Hewertson insisted Boris Johnson’s advisor Dominic Cummings would find a way around the current Brexit hurdles. Speaking to Express.co.uk at the Conservative party conference, Ms Hewertson argued Mr Cummings will find a way around the Benn Act. She argued it was hard to know whether the UK would definitely be leaving the EU by October 31 but explained she had faith in Mr Johnson and his advisors.

When asked whether the UK would be leaving on time after the latest Brexit developments the young Brexiteer cautiously but optimistically responded.

She said: “It is to be confirmed, we shall see.

“I think it is so hard to know at this point.

“Boris Johnson keeps saying that we will leave on October 31 with or without a deal.

“Look at the Benn bill, technically in law he is meant to be signing that.

“We are in bit of a conundrum really, maybe there is a way around it.

“But you know, Dominic Cummings is a man with a plan.

“I feel like he has got something under his sleeve, I’m just not sure what it is yet.

“I think we should trust Cummings, that is all I’m going to say, it is very hard to know at this point, very hard to know indeed.”

Since Parliament has reconvened, the Prime Minister has come under fire for inflammatory language when speaking to the opposition and on the topic of Brexit.

In addition to this, he has faced allegations against his character for allegedly engaging in a conflict of interest while Mayor of London and sexual misconduct accusations 20 years ago.

Mr Johnson also insisted allegations around his personal life would not overshadow the Conservative Party conference.

The Prime Minister was forced to deny claims he squeezed the thigh of a female journalist under the table during a private lunch.

He has also faced allegations about his relationship with American entrepreneur Jennifer Arcuri and whether she enjoyed preferential treatment while he was mayor of London.

Questioned about journalist Charlotte Edwardes' claim that Mr Johnson squeezed her thigh at a private lunch at The Spectator magazine's HQ shortly after be became editor in 1999, Mr Johnson denied it.
