Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a motorist who struck a pedestrian in the Gage Park neighborhood and then drove off.
The incident happened about 2:45 a.m. May 30 in the 2300 block of West Garfield Boulevard on the city's Southwest Side, according to police.
Lee Kline, 28, was in the crosswalk at Oakley Avenue and Garfield Boulevard when a driver, who had been traveling west on Garfield Boulevard, ran into him, police said. The driver then took off.
Kline, of the 5900 block of South Damen Avenue, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The vehicle in the crash could have damage to the front bumper, hood and front windshield, according to a news release from police.
