Four people were wounded, one fatally, in a shooting in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood Tuesday night, police said.
At about 8:25 p.m. in the 2000 block of South Hoyne Avenue, a 25-year old man, two 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy were walking northbound on the street when they suffered gunshot wounds, according to police.
The 17-year-old was shot in the groin and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The 25-year-old was shot in the left arm and right leg, and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was stabilized, according to police. One of the 18-year-olds was shot in the right leg and was stabilized at Stroger. The other suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
Area Central Detectives were investigating.
