The panhandler accused of sparking a Brooklyn nail salon melee that left a cop with serious head injuries and his attacker dead was released without charges Saturday.

Dewayne Hawkes, 26, appeared in Kings County Criminal court on charges of resisting arrest, criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct for his role in the deadly brawl inside the Goldmine Nail Salon in Brownsville Friday night — but prosecutors dropped the charges without explanation.

Injured cop Lesly Lafontant, 53, was arresting Hawkes for allegedly urinating on the salon’s floor when the NYPD vet was struck in the head with a metal chair by mentally ill Kwesi Ashun, 33.

The injured officer managed to grab his gun and fire at Ashun, fatally striking him in the head.

Hawkes has past arrests for allegedly spitting on a cop who’d was charging him with failing to pay a cab fare in December 2017, sources told The Post.

He was also nabbed in January 2016 after he allegedly choked, punched and bit his mother and punched her inside a public housing project, police said.
