A driver waiting in a traffic queue was rear-ended by a fast approaching lorry in terrifying dashcam video.

Michael Evans, 31, from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, was in his white Ford saloon when the lorry crashed into the back of his car on the A5 near Fazeley, Staffordshire on Monday.

He had his car in idle while staying at the back of a queue on the dual carriageway.

The dash camera installed at the back of his car captured the moment a huge red lorry failed to stop and ploughed into his car.

He had nowhere to go when the lorry ploughed into his car

He can be heard saying in the video: "Oh f***."

Pictures taken from the video shows the aftermath of the impact where the rear window of Michael's car were left completely shattered.

Michael, who works as a support worker, sustained a back injury and his car was written off.

He said: "My car's likely written off and I have an injury to my back. There was damage to the lorry also.

"I'm not sure as to why he didn't see the traffic was stopped.

"He was Polish so there was a bit of a language barrier."

Michael added that the police had to arrange a translator for the lorry driver's details.

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Police said: "I can confirm police were called to the A5 near Eccleshall at 3:15pm, to reports of a collision involving a HGV and car.

"We assisted with traffic management. There were no injuries reported and this was left as a civil matter between the two parties."
