NORTH RANDALL, Ohio - The biggest jackpot in Thistledown history rose to $375,886 before being awarded Tuesday on the last day of the racing season, but it was split more than 1,000 ways.
JACK Thistledown Racino announced there were more than 1,000 winning tickets for the jackpot that had built up through Pick 6 wagers throughout the racing season that began in the spring. There was a mandatory payout on the final day.
Gamblers who correctly picked the winning horses of the day’s last six races were eligible for the carryover pool.
Thistledown’s previous record for a race day jackpot was set in 1985 with a total payout of $89,306, which was also a Pick 6 wager, the track said.
Though live racing won’t resume at Thistledown until the spring, the racino remains open for simulcast wagering and slot machines.
