A BUSINESSMAN has been left fuming after being hit with a parking ticket because his Lamborghini didn’t fully fit within a parking bay.

Gary Digva, of Mapperley, was shocked to find a £50 fine on the windscreen of his supercar on October 9.

A businessman is furious after his Lamborghini was hit with a £50 ticket because it didn’t fit in a parking space

The 37-year-old had parked his bright yellow Lamborghini in a parking bay in Nottingham city centre while visiting a nearby gym.

Despite paying for one hour and returning to the car within 40 minutes, parking officers had issued him a ticket for “not fitting fully within the bay”.

Photos captured following the incident show the flashy supercar sitting less than foot away from the kerb.

Gary said: “I park in that bay four times a week to go to the Edwards Performance gym and all my cars fit outside the bays as they are too small for bigger vehicles.

Gary Digva said he was targeted by parking officers as he had a nice car

“It doesn’t have any signs anywhere about saying the whole car has to fit within the bay. I think that’s misleading.

“I am barely over the line as well. It’s not a huge issue, but now I’m facing a fine.

“There was an obstruction on the pavement – the parking meter – so I didn’t park right up to the kerb.

“I just feel like I was fined because I have a nice car to be honest. I was just going to the gym. I paid to park. I’m not trying to fleece anyone.”

According to the council, the fine can be reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days of the ticket being issued.

But Gary says he is refusing to pay the ticket and plans on appealing the council’s decision.

A Nottingham City Council spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to hear that Mr Digva feels his fine was unfair and he is welcome to challenge it through the official appeals process.

“It was issued because his car was parked outside the white lines of the parking bay and a distance from the kerb.

“Drivers are not permitted to park like this, even if they have a valid ticket or permit, because it can create an obstruction for other vehicles and particularly cyclists.”
