A tense and uncomfortable atmosphere grows at the prison — something which David wastes little time in voicing his concerns over — and matters go from bad to worse when he hears from Shona, who informs him that Max is not only staying at Marion’s house, but that Marion is planning to apply for custody of the young boy.
David’s not pleased about what’s been going on in his absence, but his day gets even worse when he heads down to the medical wing of the prison to receive his medication. While there, he gets a shock, as he spots Josh — who’s covered in injuries — awaiting medical treatment.
He makes eye-contact with Josh for only a moment, before he heads off back to his cell, but it’s clear that the incident has left him somewhat shaken.
Later, back in his cell, Abe reveals that the reason Josh is in prison is because he drugged and raped someone, which leads David to admit that he did exactly the same to him last year.
David and Josh will come face-to-face once more when a prison riot breaks out, but — with plenty to think about — will David attempt to seek revenge?
Coronation Street airs an hour long episode on Friday 18th October at 7:30pm on ITV.
