NATIONAL

An article on Oct. 7 about farmers growing hemp attributed an erroneous distinction to the work of Andy Huston. While he was the only person in Illinois last year to successfully harvest hemp as part of a research project with Western Illinois University, he was not the only person to grow it.

An article on Sunday about the impeachment inquiry misspelled the surname of a constitutional law professor at the University of Texas. He is Stephen Vladeck, not Vladek.

METROPOLITAN

An article on Sunday about the thriving Halloween industry in Sleepy Hollow and neighboring towns misspelled the name of the Georgia town where the Sleepy Hollow Experience began in 2013. It started in Chattahoochee Hills, not Chatahoochee Hills.

SPORTS

Because of an editing error, an article on Monday about the gymnast Simone Biles becoming the most decorated gymnast in world championship history misstated the difference between her record medal count at the world gymnastics championships and the previous high, held by Vitaly Scherbo. With 25, Biles has two more than Scherbo, not one more.

OBITUARIES

An obituary on Monday about the poet and artist John Giorno misstated when he moved into his longtime home on the Bowery. It was 1966, not 1962.

Errors are corrected during the press run whenever possible, so some errors noted here may not have appeared in all editions.
