Jack P Shepherd has had to cough up thousands in a fine to Coronation Street bosses for a social media ad in which he got a hair transplant, according to reports.
The ITV soap has a strict no promotions policy for the actors on their social media accounts.
However, Jack was seen earlier this week talking about his hair transplant and plugging the surgery where he had it done, saying stress caused his hair to thin.
But according to Sunday People, the promotion breached the show’s guidelines and he was slapped with a fine for doing it.
‘Jack got a real dressing down and was told not to repeat his behaviour,’ a source told them. ‘It was a serious breach.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for comment.
Jack came forward this week about the procedure, claiming he had it done to protect his mental health after getting ‘depressed about going bald’.
In the lengthy Instagram post, he added that he hoped that it would keep doors open in his career as it would stop him being ruled out of auditioning for younger roles.
As a result, he started getting the treatment at the beginning of January.
He wrote: ‘As an actor, my hair and my looks are crucial to my success and if I go bald then I am not going to be considered for younger roles as I get older.
‘I know a lot of actors have similar concerns to me and are desperate to cover up their baldness. We need surgical help not because we are particularly vain but to protect our livelihoods as actors.
‘It is lovely to hear the positive comments about the change in my appearance from everyone at Corrie. I have never felt more body confident and I know in taking this step I have helped my future as an actor.’
