Trump gloats that more food will be sold amid trade war with China

New York Post 2 days ago

President Trump gushed about his trade deal with China — and boasted that so much more food will be sold that US farmers will have to step things up to meet the demand.

“WOW, the Farmers really hit pay dirt!” Trump tweeted Saturday about the interim trade agreement, a potential breakthrough in the 15-month trade war between the two economic behemoths.

“In fact, there is a question as to whether or not this much product can be produced,” Trump said.

Under the deal, China will buy up to $50 billion worth of American agricultural products a year, nearly three times the previous high of $17 billion.

That could ease the burdens facing American farmers — a pillar of Trump’s political base — and relieve Chinese shortages of pork and other staples.
