TOM Allen is an English comedian, actor and writer who has taken over as presenter of The Apprentice: You’re Fired.

Who is Tom Allen?

Tom Allen was born on June 14, 1983.

When he was 22, Tom won the UK’s most prestigious comedy newcomer award So You Think You’re Funny in 2005.

He also won the BBC New Comedy Awards in the same year.

The comic supported Sarah Millican on her sold out 2016 tour of Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

He has also supported Josh Widdicombe, Romesh Ranganathan and Michael McIntyre.

And in 2018 he joined Jo Brand on The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice as a regular presenter.

Is Tom hosting The Apprentice: You’re fired?

Yes! – On Monday, August 12, 2019, BBC Radio 2 announced Tom Allen would be replacing Rhod Gilbert in 2019.

Later, the official The Apprentice Twitter page confirmed he would be joining the show.

A statement released on the account, read: “BREAKING NEWS ALERT! Comedian, writer and actor @tomallencomedy is the new host of @BBCTwo’s The Apprentice: You’re Fired, as exclusively revealed this morning on the @BBCRadio2 Breakfast Show!  #TheApprentice #YoureFired #Radio2BreakfastShow.”

What other TV shows and films has Tom Allen been in?

As well as being a regular face on Bake Off: Extra Slice, Tom has appeared in a slew of other things.

He’s starred in the films Tamara Drewe, Colour Me Kubrick with John Malkovich, and Starter for Ten with James McAvoy and Mark Gatiss.

TV wise, he has made appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Mock The Week, Celebrity The Crystal Maze, The John Bishop Show, Bake Off: The Professionals and Channel 4’s Comedy Gala at the O2.

When did The Apprentice 2019 start?

The 15th series of The Apprentice commenced on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 with Lord Alan Sugar at the helm.

Episode two airs tonight (October 9) at 9pm.

BBC One will broadcast the show weekly and it is expected to last for around 12 weeks and is followed by You’re Fired at 10pm on BBC Two.

As always each episode of the main show will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer once it has aired and on catch-up channels.

The latest series of The Apprentice will see sixteen eager entrepreneurs compete against one another to become Lord Sugar’s next business partner.
