In early October, Hilton Honors launched a targeted Buy Points promotion with up to 100% bonus with an increased limit valid for purchases completed by November 23, 2023.
Members can usually buy up to 80,000 points per calendar year, but the limit is now doubled to 160,000 points before the 100% bonus for a total of 320,000 points.
Increases limits for points purchases can make a lot of sense if a member plans to redeem a lot of them for one aspirational stay, especially in combination with the 5th Night Free bonus.

The eligible bonus amounts are tageted and might not be the same for each account. In my case the account was select for the maximum 100%. I have the impression that accounts that have never purchased points before often receive the best promotions.

The cost of a point under this campaign is 0.5 US cents each which has been pretty much the common amount when buying points under promotional sales with Hilton.

Let’s have a look at the Conrad Bora Bora for redemption value:
Conrad Bora Bora Nui
The Conrad Bora Bora Nui in French Polynesia has had more availability lately, although they appear to release a bunch of dates at times.
The five-night stay at the Lagoon View Suite would set you back $11K or 480K points (fifth night free for elite members).
So under the current promotion you could buy 320,000 points for $1,600 until the end of the calendar year and then starting January 1, 2024 it resets and you can buy again when the next promo comes. Assuming that pricing will be similar you’ll end up with 480k for $2,400. A LOT cheaper than the $11k.
Buying hotel points does make sense for specific use cases in destinations where rates are notoriously high or boil over during peak dates. I have to say that compared to most other chains, with Hilton it’s a lot cheaper to buy sufficient points for their top tier properties.

Hilton Honors current sale with up to 100% bonus will end in less than a weeks time, on November 23rd.
It’s useful when programs remove or elevate the cap on annual purchased, allowing you to buy a significant enough number of points so you can redeem for five nights at the most sought-after and expensive resorts (you still need some flexibility and preplanning to find availability).
Hilton Honors awards include all fees and taxes, including resorts and destination charges, often an additional 20-30% on top of the initial rate displayed. All elite members from Silver to Diamond get the fifth night free when redeeming points.
We still recommend to not buy blindly but to have a specific use case in mind and compare the revenue and points purchase rates before buying any points.
