A Washington Heights woman was arrested Wednesday after her 4-year-old daughter went missing and cops had to force their way into the family’s apartment, police sources said.
The mom told cops by phone the girl went missing from the 59th St. subway station on Lexington Ave. about 9 a.m.
Cops investigating what happened went to the mom’s apartment and asked to come in. When nobody opened up they forced their way inside and found the mom’s 12-year-old girl daughter home.
The mom has been arrested for endangering the welfare of a child, officials said.
Her younger daughter remains missing, sparking a massive NYPD search effort.
