ORANGE – The remaining 360 or so residents evacuated for the Canyon Fire 2 were allowed to return home Wednesday, with the last ones getting clearance in the evening.

Most of the estimated 16,570 who live in Orange, Anaheim and the North Tustin area told to evacuate on Monday could go back on Tuesday evening.

Evacuation orders for the final region, which included neighborhoods off of Windes Drive, were removed just after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, evacuation orders, including for the Hunters Way and the Lolita Street neighborhoods in Orange, were removed.

In all, the estimated number of homes that were affected until Wednesday was 125.
