FERNE McCANN is a former Towie star and TV presenter who is due to give birth to her first child later in 2017.
Her recent media comeback came after her ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins was charged in connection with a London acid attack. Here is all you need to know about the mum-to-be.
Who is Ferne McCann, how old is she and what’s her background?
Ferne Alice McCann was born on August 6, 1990, in Brentwood, Essex, England, meaning she’s 27.
Her mum Gilly, has also appeared in some episodes of Towie and was seen giving Ferne a massage to get her ready for a date in Celebs Go Dating.
Ferne also has a sister Sophie and a one-year-old nephew named Ronnie.
Prior to getting her spot on Towie, Ferne was a hair stylist and colourist for six years.
Ferne had her first brush with stardom when she finished in the top 15 in Miss England in 2012.
However it wasn’t until the following year that she became a household name after her debut on the ninth series of Towie.
She described herself as an an “outspoken, confrontational b****” on the show.
Ferne was a regular on the series until she quit in 2016, explaining she felt she had become a “pantomime character” and had to leave for her “sanity”.
What happened between Ferne McCann and Arthur Collins?
Ferne and Arthur rekindled their romance in March after dating last summer.
She even revealed her plans to move in with him and eventually get married.
But Ferne dumped Arthur after he was connected to an acid attack in Dulston and went missing shortly afterwards.
She had reportedly told him she was having his child just before the nightclub attack in which two people were blinded.
After his arrest, Ferne confirmed she is expecting and said she doesn’t want “to discuss her ex-boyfriend who she does not recognise from the events of the last week”.
How was Arthur connected to the Dalston acid attack?
After it was revealed he was wanted in connection with an acid attack, Ferne released a statement urging Arthur to go to the police.
He has since been arrested and charged following the incident.
In dramatic footage obtained by The Sun, Arthur was tasered by a squad of 30 armed police as he was arrested.
He has been charged with 14 counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and one count of throwing corrosive fluid on a person with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
He appeared at Thames Magistrates Court on Monday, April 24 alongside Andre Phoenix, 21, charged in connection with the attack.
The Sun exclusively revealed that a pregnant Ferne had visited her ex-boyfriend in jail ahead of his trial.
What are Ferne’s plans for her baby?
Ferne now plans to raise her child alone as a single parent, after calling time on her relationship with Arthur.
But the star admits it has not been easy.
In a recent interview with OK! magazine, Ferne said: “Initially I was devastated.
“What I had planned and was getting excited about had disappeared in a matter of moments.
“It was so hard to deal with what happened but then I realised it was not about me, but about my child.
“I’ll do my best for my baby.”
Still, Ferne has been given a lot of support and was pictured with Towie pals Billie Faiers and Dani Armstrong at her 27th birthday celebrations.
She’s also been working hard to keep fit throughout her term by hitting the gym twice a week.
When is Ferne’s baby due?
Ferne has confirmed that her baby is due in November 2017.
But despite going it alone, she insists she never feels isolated.
Ferne also told the magazine: “I never feel lonely as I have my baby.”
Who else has Ferne McCann dated?
Ferne dated Towie’s Charlie Sims on and off for five years, writing in her 2016 autobiography, Cross My Heart: “I will always love and adore Charlie — he was my best friend and I hope he always will be.”
She’s also been linked to a number of other men, including comedian Russell Brand and Premier League ace Dele Alli.
Ferne recently told Closer magazine – before Arthur’s arrest came to light – that while she is a romantic at heart, she always ends up with bad lads.
She said: “I’m always going for similar sorts of guys and it’s just not working for me at the moment.
“I know what qualities I’m after I just never seem to go for those. I go for mean boys.”
What else is Ferne McCann known for?
Ferne participated in the 15th series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, appearing as one of the late arrivals and ultimately finishing in third place — after controversially swallowing a live spider.

She also appears frequently on Channel Five chat show Up Late With Rylan, in the segment McCann or McCann’t — in which she attempts to complete a challenge in a short amount of time.
Along with Vicky Pattison, who she made friends with in the jungle, Ferne also landed her own show on ITVbe following the pair on a roadtrip around Italy.
In 2016 she made her stage debut as Myrtle Wilson in a London production of The Great Gatsby.
Has Ferne McCann had plastic surgery?
Ferne revealed last year that she’d had a nose job, following years of insecurity about her appearance and cruel taunts on social media.
She said: “It is subtle and I wanted it to be subtle. I didn’t want it to change my whole face.”
More recently she attempted a non-surgical alternative to liposuction, documenting the “fat freezing” procedure on Instagram.
