Hutchinson suggests its too early for Biden impeachment inquiry

Former Arkansas governor and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Asa Hutchinson on Saturday suggested it was too early for House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.)’s impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

“I would not call it an impeachment inquiry, it’s too preliminary — do the investigation and then make the determination as to whether that should move forward,” Hutchinson said at the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition Town Hall.

Hutchinson applauded the House for looking into the Bidens, saying the president has not sufficiently answered questions surrounding the first family.

“There’s unanswered questions and a lot of smoke when you look at the international dealings of the Biden family,” Hutchinson said.

Hutchinson was joined by fellow 2024 GOP presidential candidates including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott at the Iowa event, which GOP frontrunner former President Donald Trump skipped.

Hutchinson’s comments come after the announcement of an impeachment inquiry into the current president by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) earlier this week based on House GOP investigations into Biden family foreign family business dealings and the prosecution of Hunter Biden.
