The coins, the first to feature the effigy of the new monarch, will make up part of a memorial collection for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The collection will be released on October 3, with a selection of three reverse images featured alongside the official coinage portrait of King Charles III. The collection comprises of 50p and five pound crown coins. The new 50p coins featuring the likeness of King Charles III will also go into general circulation.
