Kelly, 53, died in the hospital weeks after being shot while responding to a disturbance near a shopping center along South Range Avenue in Denham Springs on Thursday, May 11.

An obituary from Seale Funeral Service said Kelly died on June 2 at 4:12 p.m. and is survived by his wife Megan and four children.

“He loved spending time with family, cooking, camping and tinkering with things. His happy place was his camper and traveling to new places,” the obituary read.
