GREGGS is giving away free lunchtime bakes this month worth up to £1.85 via its rewards app.

Shoppers will be able to claim a spicy chicken and pepperoni or cheese and onion bake through Greggs Rewards – but only if you’re one of the lucky 200,000 chosen to.

Only 200,000 loyal customers will be rewarded with a spicy chicken and pepperoni bake[/caption]

The pepperoni treat has recently been added back on the menu and is made with fajita flavoured chicken breast pieces.

They’re mixed into a creamy sauce with pepperoni slices, wrapped in a glazed puff pastry lattice with a cheesy topping.

Veggies can swap the meaty meal for a cheese and onion bake instead.

The pepperoni version has 458 calories while the cheese option has 436 calories.

All you’ll need to do is scan the QR code at the check out

There’s a catch though – the winners will be randomly selected by the bakery.

You can see if you’ve been chosen by checking the “rewards” section of the app between October 8 and 10.

You’re more likely to see the freebie added to your account if you’ve used the app a lot over the weeks building up to giveaway.

The free Greggs Rewards app lets you collect loyalty points when you spend. It also gives you access to free VIP tasters.

If you’ve been rewarded the freebie all you need to do is scan the QR code on the app when you come to pay for your food. You have until October 31 to claim it.

The offer was spotted on HotUKDeals forum where some disappointed Greggs lovers have realised they haven’t been offered the freebie.

One person wrote: “Just downloaded the app and no mention of this, there is a free Lucozade and hot drink which I may make use of.”

But another positive bargain hunter added: “I always think I’m going to miss out on these freebies but then it seems to appear on my app overnight.

“You may still be rewarded with a free bake yet people.”

The bakery chain recently unveiled its new evening menu which includes a meal deal with chicken goujons, edges and a drink for £4.

The bakery chain also confirmed it’s working on vegan versions of ALL its top-selling pasties after the success of its meat-free sausage roll.

It’s also revealed plans to open 100 new shops by the end of the yearas the company released sales figures for the year so far.
