Smyths has launched a half price toy sale including Fisher-Price and Barbie

The Sun Finance 1 month ago

TOY retailer Smyths is having a half price toy sale, with bargains on top name brands including Nerf, Fisher-Price, Polly Pocket and more.

Smyths says there are 65 different toys included in the promotion and all of them have 50 per cent off.

The offer is running online and in store until 4 November.

Some items are sold out online but there seems to be plenty of stock in Smyths stores, and you can click and collect items for free.
Shipping is also free for home deliveries over £20, but costs £2.99 for all orders between £10 and £20, and £4.99 for all orders under £10 – so you will need to factor that in to the total price.

Here are some of the bestsellers.

Barbie Dreamtopia Castle

  • Was: £24.99. Now: £12.49 – save £12.50 (50 per cent) – buy now
The set comes with lots of accessories

This colourful doll castle has multiple play spaces and is designed to open for playtime and shut for easy storage.

Kids can lift lift the chest of drawers to reveal a doll vanity table with mirror, release the princess throne to fold out into a bed for a Barbie doll, or send Honey the puppy up to the rooftop by lifting the cloud-shaped platform.

The set comes with accessories including a teapot, teacups and cake, plus a tiara, necklace, hanger and perfume bottles.

It also includes Honey the puppy and its bone, although the Barbie dolls are sold separately.

The toy is currently selling for a pricier £26.99 on Very and £22.36 on Amazon (and that’s before any delivery fees), so Smyths seems to be the cheapest at the moment.

Fisher-Price Think and Learn Teach n Tag Movi

  • Was: £49.99. Now: £24.99 – save £25 (50 per cent) – buy now
This toy is designed to get kids moving

This little robot is designed to get kids moving and learning through different games.

With three game modes and six games to choose from, the toy engages kids by asking them questions, prompting them to follow directions, or testing their listening.

When Teach ‘n Tag Movi asks kids to think about an object and asks what shape that object is, he’s encouraging them to use those all-important critical thinking skills.

Designed for pre-schoolers, this toy does require four batteries which are included.

The toy is priced at £26.95 on Amazon – so Smyths seems to have the best deal at the moment.

Nerf Strongarm

  • WAS: £29.99. NOW: £14.99 – save £15 (50 per cent) – buy now
You get 12 “bullets” included with these Nerf guns

This pack includes two Nerf Elite Strongarm blasters, enabling kids to play together.

The quick-draw, fast-firing mechanism means you can fire six darts in a row, and then easily reload with the rotating barrel.

The set includes 12 Official Nerf Elite darts.

We couldn’t find the set cheaper anywhere else online – so this could make a great stocking filler.

Kids will love this old favourite

Polly Pocket has long been a favourite among kids, and this set is bound to be popular this year.

The set includes both a three-inch Polly doll and a micro Polly doll plus accessories.

The set is also selling at £14.99 on Amazon, with free delivery.

Little cooks will enjoy the various roleplay situations they can act out using the sink, hob, oven and cupboard.

As kids press the discovery buttons in each area, they’ll activate colourful lights, sounds, phrases, songs, and exciting actions.

The set requires three AA batteries which are not included, so you would need to buy those too.

This doesn’t seem to be on sale at any other UK retailers right now – so Smyths has the best price.

It includes ten gears, which help children develop fine motor skills.

When you push the “Gearaffe” along, you can hear four sing-along songs and phrases about giraffes.

It does need batteries, but two are included with it.

The toy is currently on sale for £16.99 at The Entertainer, or £12.89 at Amazon.

There are plenty of toy sales going on at this time of year, as retailers try to convince shoppers to spend their money before Christmas.

Last week, Tesco announced a month long LEGO toy sale with half price off most sets.

And Morrisons is doing buy one get one free on toys so parents can snap up bargain Christmas presents.

Famous toy store Hamley’s has also revealed its top toys for Christmas 2019.
