Take a duvet day with the best deals that will help keep you warm in bed this winter — plus win FREE tickets to The Bear Grylls Adventure worth £80

THERE may be a chill in the air but there doesn’t need to be one in your bedroom. Now that autumn is here, I’ve been on a mission to make my bedroom cosy.

That means stocking up on bed linen, banishing draughts and maximising my radiator potential. If you plan on following suit, you won’t want to sleep on these deals . . .

Get covered: Duvet not thick enough to keep you warm? B&M’s 13.5 tog options start at a tenner. That’s a bargain compared with M&S’s, which cost from £22.50 and go up to £389. Spend even less by layering a fleece blanket over your usual duvet. Dunelm’s soft fleece throw is a bargain at £6.
SAVE: £12.50 on cheapest duvet

Mind the gap: A bedroom door gap is a sure-fire way to lose heat. Instead of buying draught excluders for £30 at John Lewis, hang an old rug or curtain over the frame. If you do not have anything suitable lying around, Ikea is selling shower curtains for £3.
SAVE: £27 on a draught excluder

Bottle it: Snuggle up under the covers with a hot water bottle. I love body-length versions you can drape over yourself or line the bottom of your bed with. Poundstretcher’s is £6.99, far less than at Argos for £24.99. Make the room look warm with one of Aldi’s new £3.99 Cosy Candles. Bliss.
SAVE: £18 on a hot water bottle

Blinding idea: As well as doors, our rooms lose around 40 per cent of warmth through windows. Forget new curtains (a pair from Next will set you back at least £25) and snap up Wilko’s no-screw £4 blinds. They can be cut to fit any frame and will trap warm air.
SAVE: £21 on curtains

On reflection: Try to avoid putting furniture between your radiator and bed — it will block the warmth. You could also stick a sheet of tin foil to the wall behind the radiator, to reflect heat into the room. A roll of Morrisons foil is 65p, a lot cheaper than Screwfix’s £6.29 specialist radiator reflector sheet.
SAVE: £5.64 with tin foil
