Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas has some stern words for Joe Sugg – and he’s not even in this year’s competition.

The BBC judge has urged the YouTube star to ‘get his act together’, after he revealed he was ‘desperate’ to get back on the dancefloor and perform a rhumba with her, following his stint on last year’s show.

However, the 59-year-old professional dancer is still waiting by her phone for Dianne Buswell’s boyfriend to ask her to dance.

During an appearance on the Strictly podcast, she fumed: ‘Well you’re not that desperate Joe as I’m still waiting for you to call and schedule an appointment.

‘I think you’re a little bit nervous actually, you’ve been promising to call, you have not got your act together young man.

‘I’m still sitting here growing cobwebs waiting for you.’

Joe, can you please just give Shirley a call?

The professional dancer is also adamant she would score top marks for their rhumba, but isn’t 100 per cent sold on the 28-year-old’s ability.

‘Well I’d get a 10. But I’m not sure about you Joe, anyway bring it on Joe I’m waiting,’ she added.

There is definitely some fighting talk going on…

The whole thing kicked off when Joe explained he was a little gutted that he hadn’t been able to whack out a rhumba while he was talking part on Strictly last year.

And he revealed it was then that Shirley offered up her services, branding herself the ‘Queen of Rhumba’.

He explained: ‘And then I was like, “We’ve got to do a dance together,” you know like two boxers, they obviously want to fight each other, but it’s just trying to get it sorted.

‘It needs to happen before the year is over!’

Time is ticking, hun.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday, at 6.40pm, on BBC One.
