'The Voice' recap: Blake Shelton throws epic temper tantrum after losing four-chair turn

Spoiler alert: This story contains details about Tuesday's episode of "The Voice."

Blake Shelton isn't afraid to let everyone know that he's the last original coach on "The Voice." And he's willing to throw an epic temper tantrum to prove it.

"I’ve got the most seasons under my belt. I think some of the people on here need a lesson on respecting their elders," he said to fellow coaches Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani and John Legend during Tuesday's Blind Auditions. "This is my show."

But the country star, who humbly dubbed himself the "King of 'The Voice,'" has had a tough time getting singers to join his team, a fact Clarkson loved to point out.

"You’re the one with the least amount (of singers)," Clarkson said. Shelton responded, "My team has been abandoned. All I need is one."

Shelton's long list of accolades on the singing competition couldn't help him land a four-chair turn. Shane Q impressed all of the judges with his take on Chris Stapleton's "Tennessee Whiskey," a country selection that seemed right up Shelton's alley.

Instead of complimenting Shane, Shelton decided to sing his own praises to lure the Sacramento native to his team.

"'Blake Shelton may not have won Season 16 of 'The Voice,' but he’s the greatest of all time,'" the coach said, reading a news article about himself. "Not only has Blake won more titles than any other coach, with six total, he's also had more runners-up and finalists as well."

Shelton concluded his pitch by doing a literal victory lap around the stage.

"Do you, like, wake up and Google yourself?" Clarkson quipped, before asking Shane, "Do you want it to be about the coach or about you?"

John Legend, the reigning champ who showed off his impressive V-EGOT trophy collection in the utility closet, added: "A lot of arrogance from someone who just lost."

Stefani tried to appeal to Shane's California roots, but she incorrectly said he's from San Francisco instead of Sacramento. She tried to recover by saying the cities are "very similar."

In the end, he picked Clarkson as his coach.

"Shane ended up going with Kelly, which is a huge mistake," Shelton said. "I'm sure that same website is going to write … and say what a horrible mistake Shane made by not going with the G.O.A.T (greatest of all time)."

His girlfriend, Stefani, called Shelton a "diva."

Better luck next time Blake.
