Sony has finally revealed new details on the PlayStation 4's most highly anticipated new game, "The Last of Us Part II." A new trailer with in-game footage of "The Last of Us Part II" were the centerpiece of Sony's State of Play video presentation on Tuesday.

Announced in 2016, "The Last of Us Part II" is a direct sequel to one of the most celebrated PlayStation games of all time. The story picks up five years after the end of "The Last of Us" and focuses on Ellie, the teenager who survived the events of the first post-apocalyptic adventure.

Early trailers for "The Last of Us Part II," indicate that players will control a 19-year-old Ellie on a quest for revenge, though its unclear exactly who she'll be fighting against. The game's creators, Naughty Dog, confirmed that Ellie is in a relationship with a woman named Dina — the couple was seen kissing in a trailer that caused a bit of controversy when it first debuted. Unfortunately, it seems that this romance wont last long, based on the game's latest trailer.

Joel, the other playable character from "The Last of Us," appears for the first time in the latest trailer to give Ellie his support, but it's unclear exactly what his role will be in the sequel.

You can watch the new trailer below:

"The Last of Us Part II" will launch on PlayStation 4 on February 21, 2020. The next PlayStation console is expected to be released next Holiday season, meaning "The Last of Us Part II"will be one of the final blockbusters titles released for the current PlayStation.
