Adam Driver in talks for Ridley Scott thriller ‘The Last Duel’

Adam Driver will potentially star with Matt Damon in “Alien” director Ridley Scott’s upcoming revenge thriller “The Last Duel.”

According to Variety, Driver is in discussions to take on a role that was to be played by Ben Affleck — who will instead move into a different, supporting part due to scheduling issues with another film.

“The Last Duel” is set in 14th-century France and follows the tale of two knights “whose bond is tested by treachery.”

“Killing Eve” actress Jodie Comer is also slated to star in the film.

Damon and Affleck previously collaborated on “Good Will Hunting” in 1997, and they wrote “The Last Duel” screenplay with indie filmmaker Nicole Holofcener. It’s based on the book “The Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, Scandal and Trial by Combat in Medieval France.”

Driver stars in the upcoming “Star Wars” film, “The Rise of Skywalker,” as well as the Oscar-buzzed drama “Marriage Story.”
