DOC Martin is one of those shows that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside – with it’s idyllic location and quirky characters.
Here’s why you have to watch it TONIGHT and why the show is must-see TV.
1) Hollywood star gets shot (well sort of)
Hollywood actor Danny Huston guest stars in tonight’s episode as Robert Brooke, a victim of a shooting in Portwenn after his character is accused of stealing some eggs from a local farm.
Danny is well known by American Horror Story fans after starring in the ‘Coven’ and ‘Freak Show’ seasons.
More recently is he is known for starring in US TV show Succession.
2) Buddy’s cute mate
Who doesn’t love Buddy the dog on Doc Martin.
No one knows where he originally came from, but the cute bundle of white fluff has been following the Doc around since the first series.
When the Doc married Louisa, she took the dog in but he went missing in last week’s episode, only to be found that he had taken up residence with the new Funeral Director, Julia Pote and her dog Shelly.
Tonight’s episode will see Buddy and Shelly team up to adoringly follow the grumpy Doc around the village.
3) Will James make a friend?
Louisa is desperate for her son James not to have the same bad social skills as his dad the Doc.
In an attempt to stop this tonight she will arrange a playdate with the local undertaker’s son.
But will things go to plan? Or will there (inevitably) be disastrous consequences?
4) Will Bert and Al lose the pub?
Following Ken’s death, the Crab and Lobster pub is now for sale.
Al and Bert can’t afford to buy it, and Ruth has no interest in another deal with them, especially after their previous failed business ventures.
However, on tonight’s episode a secret bidder will buy the pub – but who is it?
5) The idyllic location
This picturesque Cornish fishing village Port Issac is where the show is mostly filmed.
It sets the scene for the show’s fictional village of Port Wenn.
Fans can stroll through the idyllic village and see lots of familiar locations like the pharmacy and Louisa’s old house.
One of the most recognisable locations is the surgery where Doc Martin lives and works.
It is Perched on Roscarrock Hill and sits overlooking the bay below.
6) It’s the last series
Unfortunately this is the last ever series of Doc Martin.
Producers have gone all out for this season to make up for the show coming to an end.
The show has been running for nine series since 2004.
The last ever episode is due to air on Wednesday November 20, 2019.
After tonight you will have just THREE episodes left, so make the most of it.
