The Critics Choice Association announced its nominees for their fourth annual Critics' Choice Documentary Awards, which includes films by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and former President Barack Obama.

The documentary Knock Down the House, which included the story of Ocasio-Cortez and her successful congressional campaign, was nominated for the "Most Compelling Living Subject of a Documentary." Ocasio-Cortez is included in the nomination, along with Amy Vilela, Cori Bush, and Paula Jean Swearengin, who all ran for office also but lost.

She would be "honored at the event" if the film wins. Knock Down the House was also nominated for "Best Documentary" and "Best Political Documentary."

The documentary American Factory received four nominations including "Best Documentary," "Best Director," "Best Political Documentary," and "Best Editing."

Barack and Michelle Obama inked a deal with Netflix last year to produce movies for the streaming service. Obama's former ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, is on the board of directors of Netflix.

The streaming giant is also working on a documentary about South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg's 2020 presidential campaign.
