Baton Rouge police chase after stolen car ends near casino; 1 in custody

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A police chase involving a stolen vehicle ended with Michael Hollins, 19, in custody.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said that the stolen vehicle was a Hyundai and there were two people in the vehicle during the chase. Both individuals got out of the vehicle and ran around the L’Auberge Casino, according to BRPD. Hollins was reportedly captured and the other individual was able to get away.

Hollins was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, resisting an officer, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated criminal damage to property and aggravated assault.

He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Sunday, Aug. 13. He remains behind bars as no bond has been set as of the publishing of this article.
